Day After Christmas

On the day after Christmas, we had our Christmas dinner and celebration at Nick's parents house. Bill and Lisa had a great dinner prepared, and as usual a fun game. This year, our game was a guys vs. girls challenge to shoot a nerf gun at a dart board. Let's just say it didn't go so well for the girls...despite our best efforts to "distract" they guys, they beat us in the end. The plan was to go to Marshalltown to go bowling after gift opening and games, but it was way too foggy outside. Lezlie even came over to go bowling with us, but since it was so foggy, she got roped into taking some family photos for us. We ended the night watching a movie instead of bowling. Despite the weather interfering, we had a great time!

Christmas Day

After spending Christmas Eve at my Grandma Callaway's house and going to Christmas Eve church service, we woke up Christmas morning and went to my parents' house for pancake breakfast and gift opening. We took a few minutes to snap a quick picture before Nick and I headed to his Grandma's house for lunch. Christmas afternoon we went to my Grandma and Grandpa Perkins' house, and we ended our Christmas evening at Steve's house with cheese and sausage snacks and a tour of his new house. In the busy day, I didn't take too many pictures, but here are a few.

Dogs in Iowa

This year for Christmas vacation, we took Herky and Kinnick back to Iowa with us again. They had a lot of fun playing in the snow and playing with Bill and Lisa's dogs, Keiko, Dakota and Madison as well as Screech the cat. Here are some pictures of them playing and enjoying the snow, as well as a video at the end.

Christmas Party with Friends

On December 18th, just after optometry students had finished our final exams, we headed to a Christmas party. It has become an annual tradition for my friend Sylvia and her boyfriend Todd to host an hors de oeurves Christmas party at her apartment. So a bunch of us optometry students and our significant others got together to hang out. We decided to exchange white elephant gifts for fun, and we ended up getting a large plastic reindeer (see picture of Nick and I with the lovely gift). I included three photos of the group. I'm not in the first one because I was trying to figure out how to set the timer on my camera! The second one is our serious photo, and the third one is a bit more fun.

Ice Skating Dogs

Last night we got about a half an inch of ice. The local schools were closed, and the parking lots are really slick, but the roads aren't too bad. I took a video of Herky and Kinnick playing with their doggy pals, Kip and Monday this morning. They definitely didn't know what to do with all the ice!

My new car!

Nick and I traded in the 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix that I've had since my senior year of high school for a 2007 Pontiac G6. I don't normally care that much about cars, but I absolutely love this car. It has a moonroof (or sunroof? I don't know the difference...) and it even has remote start! According to Pontiac, it is Blue Gold in color, but it looks blue-gray to me. These are the pictures that were on the dealership's website.

Herky & Kinnick's Trick Videos

Here are some more videos Lezlie took when she was visiting. Herky and Kinnick are showing off their tricks.

Want to see my scrapbook pages?

For those of you that don't know, I have been scrapbooking on paper since middle school. Just a few months ago I found the wonderful world of digital scrapbooking. This means I don't have to get out all my supplies and paper and print pictures before I can scrapbook. Instead, I just download papers and embellishments online (many of them are even free!), and add my pictures on the computer. Then I save the pages and I will probably get them printed in a book once I have a collection. There are lots of programs you can use to scrapbook, but I use Photoshop. If you want to see some of the scrapbook pages I have made, you can go to the other blog I just started for that purpose: http://kaciescrapbook.blogspot.com/

Videos

I finally started sorting through the videos that Lezlie took when she was here to visit before Thanksgiving. It will definitely take me awhile to edit them all, but here's one for you to enjoy! I also took a video of the dogs playing in the snow two days ago, so here that is as well.

Snow!

I know it's not anything new to those of you who live in Iowa where there's already tons of snow, but we got our first snow that actually stuck around here in Indiana this weekend. I'm not sure whether to be excited, or ice-scraper weary. :)
